Dear Youngman: Wanted to mention a few of my sending scriptures for receiving usury through the bank. These came as a result of a bookkeeping teaching I did with my daughter. Matthew 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Luke 19:23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? In Luke 16, we are commanded to make friends with the unrighteous mammon. The way a person deals with money says a lot about them. Faithful stewardship allows one to provide for their own and the church. It put them in a position to help the helpless, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the destitute, aid the widow, and care for the sick and fatherless. In some regions, perhaps even today, there is a man who walks the mountainous trail to take the gospel to unreached people groups. His pay for the day is a single egg and a word of thanks--I have a little book about such a man named Brother Titus. He is a blind man. A remarkable man. I purchased the book from Way of Life Literature (David Cloud) some years ago. Maybe one day you will be like him. But for it to be real, God has to do it. Right now may be initial stirrings for you, I don't know. For me, I've desired for over a decade a homestead that would serve as an open sanctuary available to those whom the Lord might send. If you had no where to live, would you like to live at such a place? Or would you prefer that I give you $50 for groceries and do the same to 10 other homeless people each month? I don't know if I'll get my desire or not but I have a daughter to think of. I never want her to work in this society. I have not trained her for success in this area. I have totally committed her to God's word and to judge and test all things against the scriptures. How could she be a cashier at a grocery store ringing up those magazines? Working for a computer giant selling the hardware, software, and services to set up the infrastructure of the beast? Practice pharmaceutical medicine? etc. She is not prepared to work here and I have known this. I've stretched out on God's word knowing that it will move Hannah toward God and away from the world. But I have no money and I live in Lodebar like Mephibosheth. Lodebar...isn't it a beautiful name for a place that is not your own? I do enjoy my Lodebar but it is the illusion of prosperity. There has been enough blessing to ensure that Hannah would never have to work--I could have my sanctuary and no debt--but sometimes a man will eat his own flesh because the eye is never satisfied. I may be trapped, but I can warn you and Hannah and I can fulfill what I am called to do. In the area of my call, before me is an open door. I am trapped, but I am free. Even being trapped places constraints on me where I can produce just like Israel being trapped in Israel kept them together and brought forth a nation. Limiting factors even begin to feel good once you settle down and operate within your bounds. Mephibosheth
