Dear Youngman: As I printed out portions of a book entitled, "Christ on the Throne of Power and Antichrist - A Treatise on the Book of Revelation, to St. John the Divine" I thought of you. This book was written in 1885. These are are the types of "sermons" that that examine. In order to hear a clear head, one has to go back to when history was not covered up and there was no television and compulsory education. I come across these "sermons" as I go about my business--teaching my daughter. An outgrowth of my business. I've learned that it is not wise to put off to the side something that tugs at my mind. The time to investigate is when "that feeling is on me". I've ignored that at times to my regret. My normal life is guiding my house and teaching my daughter but every once in a while there is a new piece--when it comes and I have a mind to know, THAT is when I am to investigate--and not later. Later usually never comes. Not to say that I investigate everytime I learn a new thing. I often just file the information in my head-- that driving need to know is quite different. I do not mention this book to suggest that you read it. You had mentioned a preacher in an email and I said that I may to listen to a sermon once a year or less. As I read the above-mentioned book, I realized that I read my sermons. This book, and many others, are written by preachers. In one of his workes, King James said that it was in the forme and maner of a sermon--he was a preacher. I was looking at the workes the other day for the king's monetary policy and noticed for the first time how he worshipped at the end of his apologie for the oath of allegiance. There will never be another king like him on this earth before the coming of the Lord. He was unique among sovereigns ordained for a unique task. Back to my printing... Mephibosheth 5/13/09
