The Reina Valera 1909 and the Cipriano of 1865 are NOT agreeable to the Authorized Version--this has greatly hindered our Spanish language studies as we wanted to parallel the way Hannah learned English when approaching Spanish studies.We have therefore emabarked on the following (accents forthcoming):

Rules for translation:
- Translate the King James Bible into Spanish.
- Maximize use of proper Bible word cognates, e.g., "comandar" instead of "mandar" for the word, "command" or "faz" vs. "haz" for "face.
- Maximize use of other cognates.
- Formal equivalency, even including word order, in most instances.
- Simple words easy to be understood.
- Use the words that we know first as opposed to selecting a new word previously unknown.
- Consider how word may be used to convey meaning in other places to determine word choice (marida-married-wife, esposa-espoused-wife).
- At times, left out grammar rules that we do not well understand and confusing to us (1) "a" to denote direct objects (2) articles "el," "la" when there is no article in English. (This may assist the Spanish speaker in learning the often absence of the article in English.) Did not include each "el" or pronoun with the verb as found in English because we understand this as it is routinely excluded in Spanish and annoying to some.
